This is not my attempt to copy the original KFC recipe but rather I got the idea from a store bought fried chicken seasoning mix “Kentucky”. I was at the supermarket recently and saw the flour mix. I took a look at the ingredients behind the box and immediately I am inspired to experiment it with my own #TAGPakusu (Seasoned flour Mix).
“Kentucky” Fried Chicken ala #TAGPakUsu

- Philips Air Fryer XXL
Ingredients
Chicken Mix
- 1 KG Chicken Wings or Chicken cuts
- ½ tsp Salt
- ½ tsp White Pepper Powder
- 1 tsp Toasted Garlic Powder
- 1 nos Egg White
"Kentucky" Flour Mix
- 1 pkt #TAGPakUsu (Season Flour Mixed)
- 1 tsp Five Spice Powder
- ¾ tsp Crushed Black Pepper
- 1 tsp Toasted Garlic Powder
- ½ tbs Mushroom Seasoning or Chicken Seasoning (No MSG)
- Cooking Spray or Oil
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients for the Chicken Mix and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl combine all the ingredients for the "Kentucky" Flour Mix,
- After 30 minutes or more, take each piece of the chicken and thoroughly coat it with the flour. Coat all the chicken.
- Arrange the coated chicken in the Air Fryer basket in single layer and do not overlap.Apply cooking spray .
- Air Fry at 180C for 10 minutes on 1 side then flip to the other side and continue to Air Fry for another 5 to 8 minutes.
- Removed cooked chicken and continue with the rest of the chicken.
